Newcastle sexual exploitation trial: Updates as five men face allegations of offences against girls


ive men are standing trial accused of sexually exploiting vulnerable girls in Newcastle.

Prosecutors say girls, some as young as 13 and 14, were targeted by the gang.

Soran Azizi, Palla Pour, Ribas Asad, Heiman Mohammed and Saman Faiao Obaid – are accused of offences including rape, trafficking for sexual exploitation, sexual activity with a child, paying for the sexual services of a child and supplying drugs.

They all deny the charges – which span seven years – and are standing trial at Newcastle Crown Court.

Azizi, 28, is of Whickham Street, Byker. Pour, 25, is of West Farm Wynd, Longbenton. Asad, 29, is of The Pines, Park Road, Cruddas Park. Mohammed, 26, is of Normount Avenue, Newcastle. Obaid, 29, is of Felton Walk, Byker.
